Student Threats:  Good Shepherd School has an obligation to keep our school safe and will take
all threats seriously.  These include threats to inflict harm to self, others, or property, statements
or behaviors of a threatening nature, any behaviors that might pose a threat to the well being of
students, staff or others, hard looks, stare-downs, intimidating facial expressions, any weapon
possession or misuse of the internet.  The police will be called to investigate all threats.  The
pastor and principal in the light of all investigations will decide consequences.  If you become
aware of a threatening situation, you must immediately report it to a teacher or the principal.
The administration and teachers have a "right to search" students and/or their possessions for
reasonable suspicion.  Good Shepherd School needs your help in keeping our school safe for
everyone.

Detentions and Probations:  :  Students who repeatedly disregard school rules and fail to
cooperate will incur detention and/or probation.  For serious and repeated offenses, students will
receive a Student Report. These referrals will be kept on file in the school office.  When a
student receives three Student Reports, a detention follows.  Three detentions will result in a
suspension.  After three suspensions, it is doubtful that a student will remain at Good Shepherd.
Parents will be notified if any of these disciplinary measures are to be applied to their child.  Any
student receiving an NI (Needs Improvement) in Behavior is automatically on probation for the
next report card period and must receive at least an S (Satisfactory) in order to avoid a possible
suspension.

Suspension From School:  Reasons for expulsion with mitigating circumstances are also
reasons for suspension.  A student will automatically be suspended for the rest of the school day
if he or she is involved in a fight at school.  No pupil shall be suspended from an elementary
school for more than two consecutive weeks. Notice of suspension will be given to parents or
guardian by phone, mail, or other appropriate method within a reasonable time before the
suspension, advising of the fact of the suspension, its duration, and the reasons therefore.  A
conference with the principal, parent and child will be required before the student will be
permitted to return to school.  It is up to the administration to decide where and when the
suspension will be served.  Ordinarily, a pupil will not be allowed to make up the work or tests
missed because of a suspension.  He or she receives a failing mark for that day’s work.
